There's a lot more to bones than calcium. And there's a lot more to calcium than just "taking it."
Calcium, calcium, calcium. When we talk about our bones, it's the constant refrain. Yet most of us get enough calcium without even trying -- and taking more doesn't necessarily do any good. (The amount we need is a lot less than you might think). So if we're all getting enough calcium, why is osteoporosis still "a thing" for so many of us?
The answer lies in calcium management -- the process of getting calcium to the right places, and keeping it out of the wrong ones.
We'll talk about nutrients that play a role in calcium management, such as vitamin D, magnesium, silica, strontium, and vitamin K2. We'll talk about how they work, and when to use one vs. the other. We'll talk about safety and reasonable expectations.
