I am a Nutritarian
My name is Myra. Being a Nutritarian is my model of what will help this body be as healthy as possible in relation to food. There is a larger tree of lifestyle medical practioners that seek to help people prevent and reverse diseases with nutritional approaches. Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s Nutritarian approach is a branch on this large tree.
In 2015 I had polymyalgia rheumatoid- an autoimmune disease. Reading “Eat to Live” by Dr. Fuhrman was intriguing and I went to his New Jersey offices. By using the interventions suggested for those with autoimmune disorders, which included fasting and aggressive nutritional intervention, the Polymyalgia Rheumatoid was largely reversed in 9 months without using medications. While at his office I felt inspired by the work being done there.
Recently Dr. Fuhrman offered training as a Nutritarian food coach. It was an opportunity to study Dr. Fuhrman’s material in depth with several other presenters along with Dr. Fuhrman. It is an approach to health that deeply connects with me and I wish to share what I have learned with others.
I have a cooking show called Joy of Colorful Cooking at Acton TV and on you tube. The goal of this show is to show people how to cook Nutritarian food. Nutritarian food is food that focuses on the nutritional content of what you eat.
I also have an organic garden at the community gardens at Morrison Farms in Acton, MA. Learning to grow food organically is infinitely wonderful and challenging and provides the best vegetables for eating raw and cooking.
