Herbal Adaptogens for Resilience, Vitality and Immunity

Wednesday, December 9 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

We all deal with stress every day, and our bodies strive to adapt and keep balanced and healthy.”

David Winston in front of some of the 8,000 volumes in his Herbal Therapeutics Research Library.

Join an internationally respected speaker for a far-ranging and highly informative discussion on Adaptogens, herbs that help us respond to stress constructively.  They don’t calm us down, they don’t wind us up.  They build up our reserves, so we can handle more of life’s stresses, with energy, vitality, immunity, and (emotional) grace.

David Winston wrote the book — literally — on Adaptogens.    (Rosemary Gladstar calls it “a definitive work.”)  He has practiced, studied, and taught herbal medicine for four decades.  Originally introduced to the Cherokee herbal tradition, he has expanding his reach to include the Chinese and Eclectic/Western frameworks, as well as Ayurveda.   David is a founding member of the American Herbalists Guild, director of the David Winston School for Herbal Studies, and the owner and formulator at Herbalist & Alchemist, an herbal products manufacturer in New Jersey.  This is the second time he’ll be speaking at Debra’s.

Adam Stark, Debra’s 2nd-Generation Co-Owner and resident herbalist has this to say about David.  “I’m old enough, and have been doing this long enough, I can  teach people some things about herbs.  But there are still those that I look up to as teachers.  David is one of the few who teaches those people.  I can’t think of anyone who has a deeper or more nuanced view of the materia medica.  I hold him in the very, very highest esteem.”
