We are truly blessed to be joined by the LEGENDARY Roy Upton (our description, not his!) for a discussion on the role of nutrients and botanicals around COVID-19. The discussion will include science and tradition, and herbs from the European, Chinese, Native American, and Ayurvedic traditions.
Roy Upton is the founder, president, and editor of the American Herbal Pharmacopoeia. He is also a co-founder and past president of the American Herbalists Guild, and serves on the botanical expert advisory communities of the AOAC International, the American Botanical Council, NSF International, and the Lloyd Library and Museum. He is the author of numerous popular and peer-reviewed publications and textbooks, and has taught extensively to both laypeople and healthcare professionals.
Roy has been working and practicing professionally as an herbalist since 1981. He is trained in (and in turn, trains other herbalists in) Ayurvedic, Traditional Chinese, and Western herbal medicine, and has also studied and worked extensively with Native American and Caribbean ethnobotanical tradition. Not bad for a native kid from Revere! As an integral part of his work as an herbalist, Roy spends a great deal of time defending the rights of consumers to access herbal medicines, and to see herbal medicine integrated into the fabric of both our homes and the healthcare system.
